Then finish. High-gloss lacquer photographs beautifully under hall lighting, while satin and matte finishes read as understated and classical.

Interiors matter more than families expect. Crepe, velvet and satin each drape differently, and the interior is what mourners see during a viewing.

Check hardware and size. Swing bars, corner castings and lid hinges should feel solid, and oversize caskets must be confirmed against the grave or vault dimensions before the day.
